Lorraine Harris - Canada's Award Winning Gospel Artist and R&B Princess

Lorraine Harris, formerly Lorraine Peters has been singing Christian Contemporary music locally and Canada wide for many years. She has university degrees in Classical Music, Psychology and teaching. Lorraine has two CD releases to her credit, a self-titled CD Knock and a two song releases on the CD Lift Jesus Higher. Her CD Knock is comprised of various styles including, classical, rap, country, dance and worship. The focus for this CD was primarily outreach to those who would not normally attend a church setting. Lorraine has shared her ministry in the US and England and her music has been featured on radio stations across the country and in many local newspapers, on Breakfast Television, the Canadian National Exhibition and in HMV Music stores across Ontario for the work that she has done in the community with her music.
Nominations include Singer Song Writer of the year and a nomination submission for a Juno. Lorraine sings in schools, churches, clubs, weddings, festivals or wherever she feels she can serve. She has worked with Grammy award winning gospel producer Roger Ryan, who has worked with artist such as the Winans. Today, Lorraine is married to her husband Michael with their two new young children and Lorraine still finds time to continue to be involved in her community. Lorraine had a lead role in the CCAWR musical production “Bubbling Brown Sugar,” and in 2011, “The Generations of Gospel Music , a Testament of Time” Concert.
In May 2011 she was the recipient of the Bernice Adams Award presented by the City of Cambridge-Kitchener Waterloo for her volunteer work in the community using her musical gifts. She also has directed many children’s musical over the years, performing at venues such as Canada’s Wonderland. In 2010 she sang at The Phenomenal Woman’s Conference in Toronto in support of women struggling with various forms of addictions and abuse. She performed for several years locally for Black History Month celebrations and Multicultural festivals put on by the city and Link Magazine. Her dance gospel video, “He’s The One” can be viewed on You Tube. Lorraine continues to express her beliefs through the songs she sings.
December 2, 2011 at 7:30 pm, you will find Lorraine in a live concert at Calvary Pentecostal Assembly where she will be releasing some new songs in a live three hour concert with special guest artist, Dr. Ron Kenoly from the US. This is a night not to be missed! Lorraine always brings something for everyone from every walk of life to enjoy!
