Caribbean Film Foundation logoWith advances in technology, education and networking, it is possible, even on the tiniest of islands, to create in all media, including film.  While the dreams of future film makers are growing, the Caribbean Film Foundation (CFF) was established on the island of Aruba by Henk Bakker and Sharina Henriquez in 2010 to shine a light on locally produced films.

The purpose of the organization has since evolved to gaining international attention so that Aruba would become recognized as a creative hub for films of all genres.

CFF's first effort is a movie entitled “Heb het lief” which made its debut at the Aruban International Film Festival (AIFF) by June of 2010. In conjunction with this expo, CFF made it possible for Aruban film maker Shamira Raphaela to attend the confab and have her “Salo den mi wowo” screened on the festival. As a result of these efforts, the AIFF provides for a "Spotlight Series" to highlight up-and-coming Caribbean movies and their creators.

CFF is actively seeking sponsors to continue their efforts, and those interested may visit their web site to find out more.
