Irma – A RVIPF Perspective by Diane Leonard-Drayton

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force has announced the launch of the book “Irma – A RVIP Perspective” by Diane Drayton-Leonard, a Virgin Islander with roots in both the British and United States Virgin Islands on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 in Road Town, Tortola.

The book offers real-life stories of the events surrounding Hurricane Irma, which made landfall in the region on September 6, 2017. Police officers, as first responders, are charged with the care and safety of citizens; their personal stories of fulfilling their duties while in the midst of a humanitarian crisis themselves are brought to life.

The author was joined by His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Augustus Jaspert and Mr. Michael Matthews as Police Commissioner of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force at the book launch event.
