Chef Judith O’Loughlin to Compete in “Crabby Chef” Competition

Berkeley, Calif., October 2, 2005: The Caribbean Cove is pleased to announce that Chef Judith O’Loughlin will compete in the upcoming fifth annual “Crabby Chef” competition being held in Berkeley on Sunday, October 9th, to benefit the Berkeley Historical Society.

The free event will be held at 2:00 pm in the parking lot at Spenger’s Fresh Fish Grotto on Fourth Street in Berkeley, California, and Chef O’Loughlin will cook-off against top East Bay chefs in a twenty minute ‘Iron Chef’ style competition to create the best crab dish. The dishes will be judged by a panel of local media celebrities.

In addition to the Crabby Chef competition, there will be live entertainment, as well as outdoor cooking booths selling cooked crab, crab cakes, clam chowder and other seafood, plus beer, wine and soft drinks, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Berkeley Historical Society. The itinerary is as follows:

11:00 am Event site opens, concession stands open

2:00 pm The Crabby Chef Competition begins

2:20 pm The Crabby Chef cook-off ends

4:30 pm Concessions close

Fans of The Caribbean Cove are encouraged to come out and show their support for a West Indian treatment of a local delicacy, and for the Bay area’s top Caribbean Chef.
